BRAINFLOW: Neural Dynamics, Cognition and Theory
Research conducted by the BRAINFLOW group is aimed at understanding the multi-scale, spatio-temporal dynamics of brain activity, and the role of such dynamics in cognitive functions, in particular perception and attention. We perform research at the crossroads of theoretical and computational neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience and cognitive psychology. We place a particular emphasis on the importance of both cognitive and computational modeling to achieve a mechanistic understanding of brain and cognitive functions. We deploy multiple approaches including modeling, neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG, MEG, TMS) and behavioral measures (psychophysics, eye movements). Part of our efforts also include applications towards innovative neurotechnological tools, in part in collaboration with the TC2N group.
